Hi there, my name is Jenny C. Grim, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida and Virginia, specializing in the treatment of people who have faced trauma. I received my BA (Social Work, minor in Philosophy & Religious Studies) from Christopher Newport University and my MSW (Clinical) at Virginia Commonwealth University. I started my journey stabilizing high-risk youth and adults with community-based intensive in-home therapy, and upon moving to Florida a few years ago, have treated those impacted by substance abuse, eating disorders, and dual-diagnoses in the treatment center setting.

I use a relational and narrative-curious approach with people, finding that the therapeutic relationship is often where change begins. This approach can feel warm, casual, safe, non-judgmental, and is carefully paced and tailored to individual needs. I enjoy dialogue that is explorative, curious, open, natural, and encouraging of client-therapist feedback. I currently aim to focus my efforts in private practice to enhance the lives of my clients with EMDR and DBT. With the use of EMDR, I hope to empower my clients to move negative self-limiting beliefs toward beliefs that are hopeful, positive, and confident. This is particularly powerful for those impacted by trauma. DBT skill building focuses on increasing internal and external balance, through mindfulness and behavioral change.
